Tn Nurseries Best Selling Full Sun Perennials
If you love butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, as well as love having a bright, colorful garden almost year-round, then full sun perennials should be part of your garden.
Fortunately, Treenurseryco.com, the nation's largest mail-order nursery, offers many sun-loving perennials to choose from that will not only revitalize your garden but keep those butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds coming back.
One of our gardener's favorites is the Trout Lilly, also known as the Dog's Tooth Lily, a hardy plant that works well for people in zones 3 through 9.
Like all sun-favored perennials, the Trout Lilly prefers sun at least 6 hours per day. Although they only bloom from March to May, they will keep coming back each year, and when they bloom, they produce beautiful, yellow, bell-like shaped flowers.
Another popular full sun perennial we sell like hotcakes is the Blue Vervain
Blue Vervain is also well suited for zones 3-9, although they don't do as well if the summer temperatures frequently go above 86 degrees.
Producing colorful spikes of violet, the Blue Vervain loves full sunlight but does need plenty of watering to keep the roots moist.Another plant that attracts butterflies and bees, a unique
aspect of the Blue Vervain is that you can also use it medicinally. The Native American Indians frequently used Blue Vervain for stomach aches, headaches, and colds.
Another sun lover for somewhat warmer climates is the Marsh Hibiscus. Ideal for zones 7 through 11 and frequently found native to the Southeastern US,
Marsh Hibiscus produces beautiful silky petals that are either pink or red.
Finally, a frequent favorite is the Celadine Poppy Plant.
Producing beautiful yellow flowers in the spring and early summer, these sun-loving perennials are favorites in zones 4-9, all but the coldest zones.
We sell dozens of sun-loving favorites, so if you prefer other choices, you have a lot to choose from.
