Description
Black Willow Stakes
Black willow stakes are superb landscape additions that grow 9-18 meters long, a stem of about 35 centimeters in diameter covered with thick dark bark, and flowers can be seen from the outside. The plant has been planted over vast areas due to its fast growth rate, quite neglectable maintenance, and ability to stand strong winds. It is also a decorative plant for parks and public gardens because of its beautiful foliage and attractiveness least once every year or twice a year, depending on how often you prune flowers.
How to Grow the Black Willow Stakes:
1. Choose a healthy location for the planting. It should have well-drained soil. If it’s located near a water source, ensure proper drainage so that excess moisture doesn’t get into roots.
2. To ensure quick growth rates choose to place your plants where they get plenty of sunlight but avoid direct sunlight.
3. Water your plants deeply if the soil is dry before planting stakes so as not to allow them to fade. You may do this by using a drip irrigation system.
4. Pruning
When your black willow stakes are two years old, then it’s time to start pruning. Picking off excess leaves will help prevent any damage. After removing dead branches, you should trim them down to 1/3 their original size as well.
5. Maintenance
If they grow too tall, use your hands to gently lower and prop up stems and roots as needed. Also, check regularly to ensure proper water supply. Watering should occur twice a week in winter and once a month in summer.
Conclusion
